Dike Returns With a Roar
Forward Daryl Dike marked a milestone moment in Orlando City’s final Leagues Cup Phase One match, scoring his first goal since returning to the Club in the Lions’ 2-2 draw against Atlético de San Luis. The Oklahoma native opened the scoring in the 31st minute, reacting quickest to a saved header from Tiago and finishing the rebound from close range. The strike was Dike’s 20th goal across all competitions for Orlando City, moving him within one goal of tying former Lion Tesho Akindele for 10th place on the Club’s all-time scoring list. It also came in Dike’s first start for the Lions since 2021, when he departed for West Bromwich Albion FC following a breakout spell in purple.
The Ellis Effect
Homegrown forward Justin Ellis continued his strong 2026 campaign by finding the scoresheet once again in Orlando City’s draw with Atlético de San Luis. Entering as a substitute in the 59th minute, Ellis needed just 10 minutes to make an impact, heading home a Tiago cross in the 69th minute to double Orlando City’s advantage. The goal was Ellis’ third across all competitions for the Lions and his ninth goal contribution. The Academy product has continued to emerge as one of the Club’s most dependable young contributors, providing attacking production while earning minutes in multiple competitions throughout the year.

Midfielder Colin Guske made his return to Orlando City action on Wednesday night after representing the United States Men’s U-20 National Team at the Concacaf U-20 Championship. The Homegrown midfielder rejoined the Lions’ lineup in their Leagues Cup finale against Atlético de San Luis, making his first appearance since international duty. Guske’s return adds another midfield option for Orlando City as the Club shifts its focus back to MLS play.
Back in the Fold
Midfielder Joran Gerbet continues his return from a long-term knee injury suffered during the 2025 campaign. After making his season debut against Club León earlier in Leagues Cup play, Gerbet featured again against Atlético de San Luis, coming on in the 75th minute as he builds match fitness ahead of the final stretch of the MLS season. Selected with the No. 27 overall pick in the 2025 MLS SuperDraft, Gerbet made 23 appearances across all competitions during his rookie campaign before the injury interrupted his progress. His return provides a boost to Orlando City’s midfield depth and gives the Lions another experienced option entering the final months of the season.
The Orlando Original
Orlando City unveiled its 2026 adidas Archive Collection Third Kit this week, introducing a new look that celebrates the city’s rich soccer heritage. Known as the “Orlando Original,” the jersey draws inspiration from Orlando’s role as a host city for the 1994 FIFA World Cup and honors key chapters from the area’s soccer history. The kit features the Lions wordmark inspired by Orlando’s original professional soccer club from the 1980s, incorporates design elements tied to the iconic adidas Questra and Tango World Cup ball designs and reintroduces the Club’s historic red colorway for the first time since joining MLS. Orlando Health serves as the kit’s presenting partner and Orlando City will wear the Archive Collection Third Kit in select matches this season, beginning with Saturday’s home match against FC Cincinnati at Inter.co Stadium.
