This Week in History

April 23, 2017 vs. NYCFC - Cyle Larin struck twice and Joe Bendik stopped seven shots as Orlando City held on to beat New York City FC at Yankee Stadium. Bendik’s effort was instrumental, as he was forced into numerous saves throughout the day, including a point blank stop of NYCFC superstar David Villa in the game’s final moments. The win was the third of a four-game winning streak for Orlando through the month of April, and marked the Club’s second victory in the House That Ruth Built in as many years.

April 21, 2018 vs. San Jose - April was a good month for Orlando historically, but perhaps no month in Club history was better than April 2018. The Club won all four games it played as part of a Club-record six-game winning streak. In this one, Chris Mueller scored the fastest goal in Orlando City history, scoring 63 seconds into the contest, while Sacha Kljestan and Dom Dwyer added tallies as the Lions out-paced San Jose 3-2. Earthquakes center back Florian Jungwirth scored twice late to make things interesting, but Orlando had enough to win its fourth straight.
