Orlando Pride Head Coach Seb Hines
Opening Statement
“Priority was to come away with three before we go into the international break. I think in our recent games, we have played well but we haven’t really gotten the results. We wanted to make sure we performed and got the result. It is great to come away from this game with three points with a nice 3-1 victory.”
On Barbra Banda and her hat trick
“She is a constant threat. It was three different types of goals which was pleasing to see. She has been waiting patiently and been getting half chances but no real clear-cut opportunities. I was really pleased with her and obviously it is the first hat trick in Pride history and that has been a long wait for that opportunity, but she took it well. Credit to her being patient and scoring the goals that we needed.”
On scoring the first goal of the match
“It was a quality [first] goal. A breakaway with Ally [Watt] and she does a really good job of finding Barbra [Banda] and it was a quality finish from Barbra. To get that first goal is massive. I said that getting the three points was our priority but also needed to score the first goal. When you give up that first goal it's always difficult and always a mountain to climb. When you give up that first goal you make it harder for ourselves that it then becomes a bigger task for us. I am really happy and really impressed with the team to come out of the gate really quickly and get that first goal. The disappointment is that we conceded so quickly after scoring that first goal. We wanted to get more goals, and we did that and capitalized on our opportunities and overall, I am happy with our performance.
Orlando Pride Forward Barbra Banda
Opening statement
“It was a fantastic match after coming off of the loss. We wanted to win this game so we were going to do whatever it takes. We left everything on the field to get the maximum three points.”
On scoring the first hat trick in Pride history
“I have been working hard and keep working hard. I couldn’t have done it without the help of my teammates and our staff. I wasn’t sure if I was going to make it but I am so proud of the team.”
On the different types of goals she scored
“I was a little surprised because they gave me so much space. I am just so happy for the goals. In the last three games I didn’t score so I really wanted to today. I had to try my hardest and I wanted to score so bad so I am happy for the goals.”
