- Eduard Atuesta’s next appearance will be his 50th in all competitions for Orlando City.
- Iván Angulo is one assist away from becoming the third player in club history to reach 40 assists in all competitions for Orlando City.
- Daryl Dike’s next goal will be his 20th for Orlando City, making him the 11th player in club history to reach that milestone. Dike is two goals away from regaining a spot in the top 10 – he would tie former teammate Tesho Akindele with 21.
- Marco Pašalić is two goals away from 20 for the club, one behind Dike.

- Orlando City fell 2-1 to Club León this past weekend, putting itself in a difficult position to qualify for the Leagues Cup knockout phase. On the plus side, Marco Pašalić made his first start since May 16 and scored with his patented left foot, adding yet another weapon to Martín Perelman’s arsenal of attackers. Orlando has scored 36 times in its last 14 games, with an 8W-5L-1D record in that span.
- Tyrese Spicer was at it again, assisting Pašalić’s goal for his fourth straight game with a goal contribution. Spicer has 3g/3a in his past four matches and is up to 8g/7a in just 1141 minutes across 30 games (nine starts) for Orlando City. Leagues Cup does not count secondary assists, or Antoine Griezmann would have added one to his total as well.
- Maxime Crépeau continued to shine in net, making eight saves against León and keeping Orlando in the game. Crépeau has saved 24 of 30 shots on target for an .800 save percentage in six matches since starring for Canada at the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
- Orlando is in the midst of a lengthy homestand that spans the first three weeks of August. The Lions play six matches at Inter.co Stadium in an 18-day span, with this final Leagues Cup Phase One game against Atlético de San Luis followed by three consecutive MLS matches against Cincinnati (8/15), Chicago (8/19) and Real Salt Lake (8/22).
- León became just the third Liga MX team to defeat Orlando City without a penalty-kick shootout and the first since Tigres UANL in the CONCACAF Champions Cup in March 2024. Orlando’s last home defeat to a Liga MX club was its first match ever against Mexican competition, a 1-0 loss to Santos Laguna in August 2021.

- Unlike C.F. Monterrey and Club León, Orlando City has faced Atlético de San Luis before, playing Atléti to a 1-1 draw in the Leagues Cup 2024 group stage. The Lions would go on to win the penalty-kick shootout 5-4 to earn the extra point and top the group. Of the five Orlando City players to score their penalty kicks, only Wilder Cartagena remains on the active roster.
- San Luis has been eliminated from quarterfinal contention at the 2026 Leagues Cup following two lopsided defeats at Inter Miami (4-2) and Nashville SC (4-1). Spanish left winger Rafa Llorente has been a bright spot, scoring in each of the two games for Atléti. Llorente has four goals in five games between Leagues Cup and the Liga MX Apertura since signing this June from Atlético Madrid’s reserve team in Spain.
- Atlético de San Luis is owned by Atlético de Madrid, hence the similar naming convention and familiar red-and-blue color scheme. The Spanish giants also share a connection with Orlando City, having sent club legend Antoine Griezmann to the Lions just last month. Atlético de San Luis began play in 2013 and came under Atlético de Madrid’s umbrella in 2017. Atlético de San Luis was preceded in San Luis Potosí by San Luis FC, which lasted from 1957 until relocating to Tuxtla Gutiérrez as Chiapas FC in 2013.
