Everything you need to know for the Lions' midweek match vs NYCFC in "The Road Ahead" driven by Audi:
Milestones
- Pedro Gallese is two saves away from 500 for Orlando City in all competitions.
- Martín Ojeda has a goal contribution in seven consecutive matches, an MLS regular season club record. If Ojeda contributes a goal or an assist against NYCFC, he will set a new all competitions record for Orlando.
- With 10g/10a in all competitions, Ojeda is the third player in Orlando City history to hit double digits in both statistics in a single season. Only Nani managed to hit both marks in an MLS regular season, which Ojeda can do with one more assist.
- Ojeda and Ramiro Enrique are tied for seventh in Orlando City history with 23 goals, one away from catching Dom Dwyer in sixth and two away from Kaká in fifth.
- David Brekalo’s next appearance will be his 50th for Orlando City in all competitions.
Stats & Storylines
- Orlando City picked up a point on Saturday against CF Montréal, with Martín Ojeda’s opener canceled out by a late penalty kick from Prince Owusu.
- Ojeda is the second player to reach double digit goals for Orlando in 2025 after fellow DP Marco Pašalić scored his 10th in MLS last week. Orlando City is one of just four clubs with multiple double digit goalscorers in the 2025 MLS regular season (FC Cincinnati, Kévin Denkey and Evander; Nashville SC, Sam Surridge and Hany Mukhtar; San Diego FC, Anders Dreyer and Milan Iloski).
- Through 24 games in all competitions in 2025, Orlando City has received 48 goal contributions from its Designated Players, with Ojeda contributing 20 (10g/10a), Pašalić 16 (11g/5a), and Luis Muriel 12 (6g/6a), including three assists in his last two games.
- After an eight-game unbeaten run at home in all competitions through March, April, and well into May, Orlando has scuffled at Inter&Co Stadium in recent weeks, winning just once in its last five home matches. The Lions are 6-4-3 at home in all competitions against a 4-2-3 away record.
- Oscar Pareja can expect some reinforcements on Wednesday, as both captain Robin Jansson and No. 1 goalkeeper Pedro Gallese are set to return from yellow card accumulation suspensions. Jansson is Orlando City’s all-time leader in minutes and appearances, while Gallese is nearing the 500 save milestone and could reach 200 games played for Orlando later this year.

Meet the opponent: New York City FC
- Orlando City welcomes their oldest MLS rival back to Inter&Co Stadium on Wednesday night, with the Lions looking to snap a six-game winless run against the Pigeons. Orlando fell 2-1 at Yankee Stadium back in March in its third game of the season.
- The 2015 inaugural cousins often split the points when they clash in Central Florida. Seven of the eight matches between the sides at Inter&Co Stadium since 2019 have ended in a draw, though Orlando did win fairly notable penalty shootouts –– the Running of the Wall in the 2019 Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup and Rodrigo Schlegel’s heroic goalkeeping performance in the 2020 MLS Cup Playoffs –– on two of those occasions.
- NYCFC’s last win in Orlando came nearly seven years ago on July 26, 2018. No player on the current Orlando City roster was with the club at the time, but NYCFC legend and present day starting No. 10 Maxí Moralez scored what would be the game-winner at the tender age of 31.
- The Pigeons’ top attacking threats are striker Alonso Martínez, who has 8g/1a in 17 starts, and winger Hannes Wolf, who has 9g/4a on the season and has been red hot, notching 6g/3a over his past seven matches. Both Martínez and Wolf scored against Orlando City in the March game.
- Luis Muriel had Orlando’s goal at Yankee Stadium earlier this season. Ramiro Enrique and Dagur Dan Thórhallsson have also scored against NYCFC, while Martín Ojeda (2) and Marco Pašalić have assists.
