Stats & Storylines
- Orlando City returned to its winning ways on Matchday 19, knocking off the Colorado Rapids 1-0 at DICK’S Sporting Goods Park in Commerce City. Martín Ojeda’s ninth goal of the season was enough to see Orlando to its eighth win of the 2025 MLS regular season.
- Ojeda now has a goal contribution in three consecutive matches dating back to May 28. The Argentine set a club record last season with a goal contribution in seven straight games from June 28-July 26. Ojeda has an MVP-level 12g/13a in his past 29 MLS regular season starts dating back to the beginning of that run in summer 2024.
- Marco Pašalić picked up his fifth assist in all competitions on Ojeda’s goal, bringing him to 7g/5a through his first 19 games in purple. Pašalić also recorded an assist on international duty with Croatia earlier this month.
- Alex Freeman earned his second, third and fourth career caps for the United States last week, starting in the Americans’ Gold Cup victories over Trinidad & Tobago, Saudi Arabia and Haiti. The U.S. has clinched a spot in the quarterfinals, to be played this coming weekend.
- As of Wednesday, Orlando City will have played just once in the previous 24 days after a run of nine matches in 29 days through the month of May. Things are about to heat up for the Lions, though – Orlando will play at least once a week from now until the September international break, with midweek matches this week, July 16 against New York City FC, and at least twice for Leagues Cup.

Meet the opponent: St. Louis CITY SC
- Wednesday marks Orlando City’s first-ever visit to Energizer Park as the Lions battle St. Louis CITY for just the second time ever since the Midwestern side joined MLS in 2023. Expansion side San Diego FC’s Snapdragon Stadium will be the only MLS home ground Orlando hasn’t visited after this match.
- The Lions welcomed St. Louis to Inter&Co Stadium back on August 26, 2023 during St. Louis’ expansion season, defeating the new side 2-1 in an epic contest that featured a Facundo Torres game-winning penalty kick in the 91st minute. Torres had a brace for Orlando in the game.
- St. Louis has gone through two head coaches since that match, firing Bradley Carnell (now coaching Philadelphia Union) halfway through the 2024 season and sacking replacement Olof Mellberg just 17 games into his tenure this year. Interim head coach David Critchley, a Liverpool native and former head coach of St. Louis’ MLS NEXT Pro side, will man the touchline on Wednesday.
- After finishing first in the Western Conference in that magical 2023 season, St. Louis has stumbled, finishing 12th in the West last year with 37 points and sitting 14th this season, only ahead of LA Galaxy. St. Louis earned more points in 2023 (56) than it has in 2024 and 2025 combined (52).
- St. Louis has shown life under Critchley, scoring six times with a 1-1-1 record in three matches after netting just 11 goals in 15 regular-season games under Mellberg. DP striker João Klauss has four of those six goals, including a hat trick in a 3-3 draw against the LA Galaxy on Matchday 19.
