Milestones
- Martín Ojeda has a goal contribution in eight consecutive MLS matches, a club record he can extend to nine with a goal or an assist on Saturday.
- With 20 MLS regular season goal contributions, Ojeda is two away from tying Nani’s 2019 season (12g/10a, 22 total) as the most productive in Orlando City history.
- Ojeda and Ramiro Enrique are tied for seventh in Orlando City history with 23 goals, one away from catching Dom Dwyer in sixth and two away from Kaká in fifth.
Stats & Storylines
- Orlando City suffered a cruel defeat on Wednesday night, seeing a 1-0 lead slip into a 2-1 deficit in just four minutes late in the second half against New York City FC. Robin Jansson’s opener, his first goal in 2025 and seventh in his illustrious Orlando City career, was not enough to see the Lions to victory. Orlando is now winless in three and 2-4-2 over its past eight matches, though it remains in sixth place in the East and six points above the playoff line.
- The Lions’ home struggles have manifested again this season – City has lost four of its past six home matches in all competitions and has drawn one other, last winning on May 24 against Portland. Orlando is 6-5-3 (1.5 points per game) at home in all competitions compared to 4-2-5 (1.55 ppg) on the road.
- Orlando heads back out on the road this weekend, where it has once again been one of the best teams in MLS. The Lions are unbeaten in three and have just one loss in their past ten away games going all the way back to March.
- With his secondary assist on Jansson’s goal, Martín Ojeda became the second player in Orlando City history to post at least 10g/10a in a single MLS regular season, after Nani in 2019. Ojeda has 2g/7a over his eight-match goal contribution streak. The Argentine No. 10 has 13g/19a over his past 34 MLS regular season starts going back to 2024.
- Star winger Marco Pašalić was one of six new players named to the MLS All-Star team this week, yet another honor for one of 2025’s top new MLS signings. Pašalić has 11g/5a in all competitions and is the only player to start every MLS regular season match for Orlando City this season.

Meet the opponent: New England Revolution
- At long last, Orlando City won a game at Gillette Stadium in 2024, overcoming a historic house of horrors to win 3-1 on July 13. After going down 1-0 in the 23rd minute, the Lions roared back for three unanswered goals in the second half, with a Facundo Torres brace bookending the winner from Ramiro Enrique.
- Earlier this season, the Lions and Revs drew 3-3 in a thriller at Inter&Co Stadium. Martín Ojeda scored the first home hat trick in club history and the first in any game in nearly ten years, but it wasn’t enough to secure all three points as the Lions coughed up a two-goal lead in the second half.
- Carles Gil scored against Orlando City once again back in May, continuing his reign of terror against the Lions since joining the league in 2019. Gil has 7g/8a in 12 matches against Orlando in all competitions. The Spanish playmaker was named an MLS All-Star for the fourth time in his career this week, though it should be noted that Ojeda, who did not make the team, has two more goals and three more assists in nearly 200 fewer minutes this season.
- Oscar Pareja and Caleb Porter will meet for the 22nd time in their decade-plus coaching careers, with Pareja holding an 11-6-5 advantage over Porter going back to their first matchup in 2013. Pareja is 5-1-1 against Porter as Orlando City head coach.
- The Revs were on a four-game winning streak the last time Orlando saw them back in May, but things have turned south for New England this summer. The Revs are winless in seven and have conceded 15 times in their past six matches, including five second-half goals in a 5-3 defeat to the New York Red Bulls on Wednesday.
