Stats & Storylines

- Orlando City’s recent stoppage time heroics turned against them this past Saturday in Montréal. After winning twice after 90 minutes in their past two games, the Lions conceded a 94th-minute penalty kick in what turned into a 2-0 loss to their Canadian foes after a second goal in the 98th minute. The defeat snapped a seven-match unbeaten streak for Orlando against Montréal dating back to 2023. Orlando’s last four games in all competitions have been decided in the 90th minute or later.

- The Lions finally get a real break from the road, with three home games on tap in the span of a week between MLS and U.S. Open Cup play. Orlando has played eight of its last ten games away from home in all competitions, concluding a second four-match road swing in as many months this past weekend.

- Orlando was shut out for the first time in nearly a month against Montréal. The Lions have found their scoring boots of late, notching 14 goals in four matches in all competitions prior to the defeat up north. Orlando will look to prove that match was a blip as they face Philadelphia on Wednesday night.

- The Lions have greatly enjoyed playing midweek this year. Orlando City is a perfect 3-0-0 on Wednesday nights, defeating Naples FC (April 15) and the New England Revolution (April 29) in the Open Cup while blasting Charlotte FC 4-1 on April 22.

Meet the opponent: Philadelphia Union

- Orlando City took just one point from Philadelphia last season after a 3-0-1 run from 2023-24. The Lions weren’t alone in their struggles; the Union won 20 games and took home 66 points last season en route to their second Supporters’ Shield in club history.

- Things haven’t been so sunny in Philadelphia in 2026, however. The Union are last in the Eastern Conference with just one win through 12 matches. Philly opened the campaign on a six-game losing streak in MLS play, the longest such run for any reigning Supporters’ Shield winner to open the following season, and most recently lost 2-1 at New England last weekend after leading at halftime.

- Some notable Lion performers against the Union – Martín Ojeda has 2g/3a against Philadelphia in his career, including an assist during last year’s season opener. Duncan McGuire has scored three times against Philadelphia in just 254 minutes. On the Philly side, club legend Alejandro Bedoya has faced Orlando City 17 times in his career, recording 1g/4a. Bedoya is the only player on the Union roster with a goal against Orlando.
