After a commanding 4-1 victory over the Montreal Impact on Wednesday night, Orlando City rose to the sixth slot in the Eastern Conference. With the Lions now above the red line, Orlando City controls their own destiny. But do they have a chance to rise in the rankings? Here are some of this weekend’s matchups that have big playoff implications.

Montreal Impact-1| Philadelphia Union-1- Sept. 10

The Montreal Impact and the Philadelphia Union battled it out to a 1-1 draw on Saturday night. The results give each team 1 point instead of three, tightening the race in the Eastern Conference.

New York City FC-1| vs. New England Revolution-3- Sept. 10

The New England Revolution held onto an early lead for a 3-1 victory over New York City FC. The win lifts the New England Revolution above D.C. United in the playoff race pending the results of tomorrow’s match. At 33 points, the New England Revolution are just one point beyond Orlando City.

New York Red Bulls vs. D.C. United- Sept. 11 1:00pm

D.C United had an amazing performance in their 6-2 victory over the Chicago Fire, but their heat was tempered in a 3-2 loss to New York City FC. The New York Red Bulls are still in the hunt for the top playoff spot in the Eastern Conference; they’re neck and neck with their downtown neighbors. The Red Bulls will come out fighting in this match-- and with D.C. United just two points behind Orlando, a New York victory would give the Lions a comfortable lead in the table.
