Orlando Pride to air seven matches locally on FOX35 PLUS throughout 2023 season

ORLANDO, Fla. (March 24, 2023) — The Orlando Pride has announced a local partnership with FOX35/FOX35 PLUS (WOFL/WRBW), which will see seven of the Pride’s 2023 matches aired on FOX35 PLUS across the Orlando-Daytona Beach-Melbourne media market. Additionally, the Club has unveiled the talent lineup for the matches, featuring pre-, half- and post-game coverage; Club-produced content, and on-location reporting for the selection of games.

“As we continue to increase our investment in growing the Pride brand locally, we’re very excited to bring coverage of matches to our fans on linear television throughout the Central Florida area,” said Club President of Business Operations, Jarrod Dillon. “Viewership of our matches will help continue to build the Pride brand, and market the best women’s soccer league and players in the world. We couldn’t be more excited to work with our great partners at FOX35 and an extremely talented lineup of broadcasters in this new venture.”

Local coverage for the Pride season will begin on Sunday, March 26, as the Pride travel to face defending champion Portland Thorns FC at Providence Park. Following the 5 p.m. ET kick, the 2023 home opener against Angel City FC will also air locally, a 5:30 p.m. ET match at Exploria Stadium.

The remainder of the FOX35 PLUS schedule includes May 14 at NJ/NY Gotham FC, June 24 vs. Kansas City Current, Sept. 3 at OL Reign, Sept. 17 vs. North Carolina Courage and Oct. 6 at Racing Louisville FC.

The Club’s all-woman broadcast lineup will bring fans inside the match, featuring play-by-play, color analysis and sideline reporting directly from the match. Play-by-play duties will be split between Leah Secondo and Maura Sheridan, with Kacey White serving as analyst and Duda Pavão on the sideline.

A veteran with nearly 40 years in the industry, Secondo has extensive experience in women’s sports and currently works with ESPN, CBS Sports Network and a variety of regional sports networks. The four-time Hall of Famer recently appeared on the global broadcasting stage at the 2022 World Games and Tokyo 2020 Olympics. Secondo will call the first four matches of the schedule.

The final three matches will be led by Maura Sheridan, a familiar voice to NWSL fans from her work covering matches on Paramount+. Sheridan has also called matches for ESPN and the ACC Network, including Concacaf World Cup Qualifiers and the U.S. Open Cup.

White, a former U.S. Women’s National Team midfielder, will provide color analysis for all matches, bringing both her playing and coaching expertise to the booth. Prior to her career in broadcasting, White was a College Cup champion at the University of North Carolina before eventually going pro and winning the 2009 WPS Championship with Sky Blue FC. Internationally, White totaled 18 caps with the U.S. WNT and was an alternate at the Beijing Olympics in 2008.

Pavão returns to the Pride after previously serving as the Club’s digital host for the 2019 through 2021 seasons. A multilingual talent who has since served in various roles, most recently with the NWSL and as an in-stadium host at the 2022 FIFA World Cup, Pavão will bring fans between the benches on match day, providing insight straight from the field.
