Pride Undefeated

On Saturday night, Orlando Pride played their third home game against the Western New York Flash. A lone goal by team captain Alex Morgan in the 79th minute lifted the team to its third win at home this season, continuing their undefeated streak in Camping World Stadium.

“It’s awesome,” midfielder Kristen Edmonds said after Saturday’s match. “One of our goals is to be undefeated at home and win for our fans. They created an environment for us where it’s not only fun to play but makes us want to play better.”

With 7,841 fans in attendance during Saturday’s game, the atmosphere at Camping World Stadium was exciting. The Pride supporters were chanting and cheering on their team the entire game, believing in their team from the first touch of the ball until the final whistle was blown. It was their energy and support that kept the Pride searching for that game-winning goal.

In Major League Soccer (MLS), Orlando is known to be a tough city to travel to. Orlando City remains undefeated at home this season, thanks in part to the roaring supporters section. Orlando Pride is now starting to earn the same reputation in the National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL), causing problems for visiting teams left and right.

“We like being at home because obviously our fans are cheering for us,” Edmonds said. “We go in with a game plan and go in playing the best we can.”

Orlando Pride will now play four games on the road before returning back to Camping World Stadium on June 23rd to play the Houston Dash.
