ORLANDO, Fla. (Sept. 13, 2023) — The Orlando Pride and McKinley Crone have agreed to a contract, signing the goalkeeper through the end of the season. This season, Crone previously had two stints with the Pride as a National Team Replacement Player.

“Mac has demonstrated max effort and tenacity in her training throughout the season with us and we are excited to reward her hard work with a contract through the end of the year,” Orlando Pride VP of Soccer Operations and General Manager Haley Carter said. “She has consistently challenged our goalkeeper corps in training and shown tremendous improvement in shot stopping, distribution, and aerial challenges. She has earned her place in the NWSL, and we are excited to play a role in her continued development as a professional athlete.”

“Being able to be here, in my hometown, and play is such a dream come true,” Crone said. “I am so excited to continue working and learning from such amazing teammates and staff members, and help contribute to making the Pride an incredible environment to play in.”

A native of Maitland, Fla., Crone has spent the entire 2023 season training with the Pride. The University of Alabama product holds the NCAA record in goalkeeping minutes (9519) and set the college’s single-season records in shutouts (10), single-season wins (23) and career wins (41). In her senior season, she earned SEC All-Tournament Team and United Soccer Coaches All-Region Third Team honors. Crone played the first two years of her collegiate career at the University of Oklahoma, starting in every match her freshman and sophomore year.
