Orlando City SC (7-16-3, 24 points) travels to face Sporting Kansas City (13-7-6, 45 points) on Saturday, Sept. 8. Kickoff is set for 8:30 p.m. ET at Children’s Mercy Park.

The match will be televised locally on WRDQ TV 27 and YouTube TV and transmitted on Real Radio 104.1 in English and La Nueva 990 AM in Spanish.

“They’ve got a stability there as a club with Peter [Vermes], who’s been there for many years. Their process, their systems, I think that everyone is very well drilled,” Lions head coach James O’Connor said. “You can see their players have a great understanding of what they’re trying to do. They’re very intentional about their style of play, good understanding of an individual and a collective basis. So, we’re expecting a very tough team, regardless what personnel come in. There’s good understanding from all their players as to their system and their role within that team.”

Orlando City enters the match following a 2-2 draw with the Philadelphia Union. Forward Dom Dwyer opened the scoring in the ninth minute while defender Scott Sutter equalized in the 91st minute. Yoshimar Yotún earned his 10th MLS assist of the year, tying the Club’s individual single-season record.

Sporting KC enters the match following a 3-1 defeat against Seattle Sounders FC, snapping its four-game winning streak. Diego Rubio scored his eighth goal of the season in the second minute, tying him for the team lead with forward Johnny Russell.

Sporting will be without Rubio (Chile), Russell (Scotland) and Daniel Salloi (Hungary), who were called up to their respective national teams. City will be without Yotún (Peru), Amro Tarek (Egypt) and Mohamed El-Munir (Libya).
