ORLANDO, Fla. (Feb. 19, 2026) – Orlando City SC announced today that midfielder Eduard Atuesta has signed a new contract, keeping him with the Lions through the 2028-29 Major League Soccer season. The deal includes a club option for the 2029-30 campaign.

Atuesta joined the Lions ahead of the 2025 MLS season from Sociedade Esportiva Palmeiras of Brazil’s Campeonato Brasileiro Série A. The midfielder made 30 starts in 33 appearances across all competitions during the 2025 campaign, recording seven assists.
A native of Vélez, Colombia, Atuesta is a product of Independiente Medellín’s academy system. After beginning his professional career with Medellín, he went on to feature in MLS with Los Angeles Football Club before joining Brazilian powerhouse Palmeiras. Prior to arriving in Orlando, Atuesta appeared in 259 professional matches, scoring 15 goals and adding 32 assists in more than 16,000 minutes played.
Atuesta, 27, has won at least one trophy with each of his three previous clubs. His honors include the Colombian league title with Independiente Medellín in 2015-16, the 2019 Supporters’ Shield and 2024 Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup with LAFC and multiple trophies with Palmeiras, including the 2022 and 2023 Brazilian league titles, the 2023 Supercopa do Brasil and the 2022 Recopa Sudamericana.
Internationally, Atuesta has made 17 appearances for Colombia across all levels, including two international friendlies with the senior national team.
