“Pedro has been an important part of our Club’s success over his three years in Orlando and we’re very excited to agree to a deal that will see him remain with us for the foreseeable future,” Orlando City EVP of Soccer Operations and GM Luiz Muzzi said. “We believe he is one of the most talented goalkeepers, not only in our league, but in the world and we are happy to have him representing our Club, our city and our fans.”

Gallese, 32, joined the Lions ahead of the 2020 season from Peruvian side Alianza Lima. Over this three seasons in purple, Gallese has totaled 228 saves and 21 clean sheets across all competitions, including leading the Club to its all-time single season shutout record in both 2021 and 2022 with nine in a single campaign. Gallese personally accounted for all nine in 2022.

In his first season, Gallese led the Lions to their first final, facing the Portland Timbers in the MLS is Back Tournament Final and the Lions have reached the postseason each of the three seasons since his arrival.

Gallese allowed just two goals over the span, totaling nine saves, a shutout victory and a shutout in the Open Cup Final.

Following the 2022 season, Gallese was awarded the MLS Save of the Year presented by Allstate for his full-extension, 82nd-minute stop on Atlanta’s Dom Dwyer on July 17. Gallese was also named to the 2021 MLS All Star Game after opening the season with four clean sheets and a six-game unbeaten run.

Internationally, Gallese has represented his native country on the world’s stage since 2014, named the Inca’s starting goalkeeper for the 2018 FIFA World Cup and finishing as Copa America runner up in 2019.
