Orlando City SC Hires David Cosgrave as Sr. Director of Sports Medicine and High Performance

ORLANDO, Fla. (Jan. 14, 2022) — Orlando City SC has hired David Cosgrave as its Sr. Director of Sports Medicine and High Performance, it was announced today.

Working alongside Dr. Craig Mintzer, chief medical officer and head orthopedic surgeon, and Dr. Justin Mullner, head primary care sports medicine physician, from the Orlando Health Jewett Orthopedic Institute, Cosgrave will oversee the strategic and operational leadership of medical, physical performance, nutrition and sports science departments across the entirety of the men’s pyramid.

In addition, Cosgrave will oversee and implement initiatives which support elite levels of physical capability, low levels of injury and support for cultural development as well as high levels of mental resilience.

A graduate of AECC University College, Cosgrave brings with him a wealth of experience from European clubs, including England’s Liverpool FC, Stoke City FC and Fulham FC, and most recently FC Kobenhavn of the Danish Superliga.

Orlando City opens its MLS regular-season campaign with its 2022 Home Opener, presented by Orlando Health, on Sunday, Feb. 27. The Lions are set to host CF Montréal at Exploria Stadium, with kickoff set for 1 p.m. ET.
