ORLANDO, Fla. (Dec. 8, 2025) ā Orlando City SC has acquired the No. 20 overall pick in the first round of the 2026 MLS SuperDraft from Nashville SC in exchange for Homegrown defender Thomas Williams, the Club announced today. The deal also includes up to $100,000 in conditional General Allocation Money (GAM), contingent on performance-based metrics.
With this transaction, Orlando City now holds four projected first-round selections in the 2026 MLS SuperDraft ā picks No. 5 (from LA Galaxy), No. 9 (from Houston Dynamo FC), No. 14 and No. 20 (from Nashville SC). These selections are a key part of the Clubās strategy to build competitive rosters across all levels in the pathway.
Williams, 21, came through the Orlando City Academy before signing with Orlando City SCās First Team on June 15, 2021, as a Homegrown player. At 16 years and 304 days old, he became the youngest player at the time to sign a First Team contract, surpassing Tommy Redding, the Clubās first Homegrown signing in 2014 (17 years, 45 days). Earlier this year, midfielder Gustavo Caraballo broke Williamsā record by signing at 16 years and 198 days.
TRANSACTION: Orlando City SC acquires Nashville SCās natural first-round selection (No. 20) in the 2026 MLS SuperDraft in exchange for Homegrown defender Thomas Williams. Orlando City will also receive up to $100,000 in conditional GAM if certain performance-based incentives are met.
