Orlando City Players visit Give Kids the World

OCS visits Give Kids the World

Last Tuesday, July 22nd, Orlando City SC players visited a unique village with a very heartwarming mission. Give Kids the World is a non-profit organization that strives to give any and all children with life-threatening illnesses the vacation of a lifetime. They bring children and their families to Central Florida for a memorable, joyful, cost-free visit to the attractions, while staying in the Give Kids the World Village. The Village is a 70-acre resort with 144 Villa accommodations, attractions, and fun.

Tommy Redding, Rob Valentino, and Aodhan Quinn visited the Village on Mayor Clayton’s birthday. Unlike most mayors, Mayor Clayton is a 6-foot tall bunny rabbit. Every Tuesday, guests celebrate his birthday and those of all the children in attendance. During the celebrations, the players interacted with the children and families, taking photos and showing off some soccer skills.

Give Kids the World Manager of Development, Lauren Zimniski thanked Orlando City for joining them. “This is something that the families will absolutely remember.” The players were able to play a crucial role in the mission of this organization, creating lifelong memories for the children and families.

Since 1989, Give Kids the World has welcomed more than 130,000 families from all 50 states and over 75 countries. If need be, accommodations are made with only 24 hours notice. No child in need has ever been turned away.
