ORLANDO – December 12, 2014 – Orlando City Soccer Club executed several trades following the Major League Soccer (MLS) Expansion Draft.  Per MLS and team policy, specific terms of the deals were not disclosed.

The previously announced transactions include:

Forward Mark Sherrod was traded to the San Jose Earthquakes in exchange for their second round natural selection in the 2015 MLS SuperDraft.

Defender Eric Gehrig was traded to the Chicago Fire in exchange for the Fire’s selection in the second round of the 2016 MLS SuperDraft.

Lastly, Defender Jalil Anibaba – Orlando City’s third pick in the Expansion Draft – has been traded to Sporting Kansas City as consideration for Orlando City’s earlier acquisition of Defender Aurélien Collin.

“Building off the success of Wednesday, we have made additional moves to further strengthen our squad entering into our inaugural 2015 MLS season,” said Head Coach Adrian Heath. “We believe the SuperDraft picks we secured will give us the opportunity to sign additional young talent that can further bolster what we believe is rapidly becoming a formidable roster.”
