Orlando City B Fall Short to FC Tucson

MONTVERDE, Fla. (June 12, 2019) - Orlando City B (3-6-3, 12 points) fell short, 2-1, to FC Tucson (4-4-3, 15 points) on Wednesday night. This served as the third of four matchups between the teams for the 2019 campaign.

Wednesday’s match was the first time in six contests that OCB did not open the scoring after a goal from FC Tucson midfielder Jamael Cox came in the 44th minute. Tucson quickly doubled their lead when defender Kyle Venter scored with the last kick of the first half.

Forward Thiago De Souza put a goal on the board for the Lions in the 59th minute off a penalty kick. De Souza, who was named Week 11 Player of the Week, leads the Lions with four goals. This goal was his second consecutive goal, scoring one in OCB’s last game on June 7 against Forward Madison.
