ORLANDO, Fla. (March 9, 2022) - Orlando City B has announced its coaching staff ahead of the side’s inaugural MLS NEXT Pro campaign, naming Martín Perelman as the Club’s Head Coach. In addition, Orlando City B has hired assistant coach Manuel Goldberg, goalkeeper coach Marcos Machado and strength and conditioning coach Vander Salas to the technical staff.

Perelman, 35, comes to Orlando from Argentine side Club Comunicaciones where he was appointed manager in 2021 and led the side that was crowned champions of the Torneo Complemento de la Primera B. Prior to that, he served on the staff of Cañuelas Fútbol Club and Argentino de Merlo, the latter being the very club in which he finished his playing career.

On the pitch, the Buenos Aires native enjoyed a decade-long playing career beginning in 2008 with Hapoel Beer Sheva in Israel. From there he would return to Argentina from 2010-13 with stints at Club El Porvenir, A.D. Berazategui and Sportivo Italiano before heading to Europe where he spent a year in Greece. In 2015, he once again returned to his native nation with Deportivo Armenio before heading to Argentino de Merlo to finish out his career from 2016-19.

Goldberg joins the Orlando City B staff from Barça Academy PRO Miami, where he served as a competitive program coach for nearly two years. Prior to that he worked as a youth coach at the River Plate Academy while serving at the helm for the U-16 Argentinian side at the 2019 European Maccabi Games. Beginning his coaching career in 2015 with Hapoel Katamon in Israel, Goldberg also served in a number of roles with Club Nautico Hacoaj in Buenos Aires from 2017-19.

A USSF “A” licensed coach, Machado has been with the Club for a number of years dating back to the Orlando City USL Pro days. In over a decade in Orlando, Machado has enjoyed stints with Orlando City of Major League Soccer, the Orlando Pride of the National Women’s Soccer League and the Orlando City Academy in roles as both a scout and goalkeeper coach.

Salas joins the Club after nearly a decade working at Major League Soccer side FC Dallas. Beginning in 2012, Salas worked with the Toros’ Academy before transitioning to the first team in 2015. While in Frisco, Salas was part of a staff that made five trips to the Audi MLS Cup Playoffs, winning a domestic double in 2016 with both a Supporters’ Shield and U.S. Open Cup title under current Orlando City EVP of Soccer Operations and General Manager Luiz Muzzi and Head Coach Oscar Pareja and later serving as the head of the strength and conditioning department under former FC Dallas Head Coach Luchi Gonzalez.
