ORLANDO, Fla. (Oct. 4, 2025) – Orlando City SC (14-7-11, 53 points) earned a 1-1 draw against Columbus Crew (13-8-12, 51 points) on Saturday night at Inter&Co Stadium. The Lions’ lone goal marked their 60th of the regular season, setting a new club record.
Columbus opened the scoring in the 32nd minute when defender Andrés Herrera finished a low cross from midfielder Lassi Lappalainen. Lappalainen’s delivery from the left side found Herrera cutting into the box, where he slid in to give the Crew a brief lead.
Just two minutes later, Orlando responded. Forward Marco Pašalić capitalized on a rebound after Luis Muriel’s shot was deflected by the Columbus goalkeeper. Pašalić slotted the ball home from just outside the six-yard box, notching his 12th goal of the regular season and 15th across all competitions.
With the draw, Orlando City remains in the top seven of the Eastern Conference with two matches left in the regular season. Next up is an interconference clash against Vancouver Whitecaps FC, set for next Saturday at Inter&Co Stadium.
Scoring Summary:
32’ Andrés Herrera (Lassi Lappalainen) – CLB 1, ORL 0
34’ Marco Pašalić – ORL 1, CLB 1
Head Coach Oscar Pareja:
“Just like always, I think it was a very competitive match. We ended up with the feeling that we had chances to clearly define the game. But also, humbly, we have to recognize that [Columbus Crew] had two chances at the end, as well, so it was a very competitive match. I think our reaction in the first half after they scored, it was mostly Orlando, getting back on the front foot, pushing, creating, and finishing the first half in a much better way. Overall, I think it was a game with a lot of character. It’s a tie that leaves us feeling like we could have done more with those chances. But again, we have to recognize the competitiveness against a good team, it was there on the pitch.”
