Last month Racing Louisville signed Denmark international forward Nadia Nadim, who most recently played for Paris Saint-Germain. Before her two seasons in France, Nadim played for the Portland Thorns, where she won an NWSL Championship in 2017. Louisville also signed a pair English internationals, including forward Ebony Salmon, previously with Bristol City where she tallied 18 goals in 48 appearances and defender Gemma Bonner, previously with Manchester City.Ā

Recent FormĀ

Louisville are currently 3-4-1, coming off a 0-2 defeat against the Portland Thorns. This is the fifth time this season that Louisville has been held scoreless. Prior to that match, Louisville earned its largest victory when the team scored three goals against the Chicago Red Stars, the most in any match this season for the expansion side.Ā

Whoā€™s Hot

Ebony Salmon has made an immediate impact for Racing, scoring two goals in the last four games for the club. In addition to Salmon, Louisville currently has four other goal scorers. Cece Kizer, Emina Ekic and former Chicago Red Stars teammates Savannah McCaskill and Yuki Nagasato have all tallied one goal each this season. Goalkeeper Michelle Betos also has four shutouts on the season.Ā

Head-to-Head

Orlando faced Racing Louisville at the start of the 2021 Challenge Cup this past April for the teams lone matchup. Louisville's Cece Kizer opened the scoring, but Orlandoā€™s Taylor Kornieck and Abi Kim would both find the back of the net for the Pride, putting Orlando up by one heading into stoppage time. Brooke Hendrix would go on to find the equalizer in the 93rd minute securing the point for the expansion side.Ā

Rasmussen Fun FactĀ

The Pride are 2-0-1 this calendar year against expansion teams. In addition to the Prideā€™s draw with Racing Louisville earlier this year, Orlando has beaten Kansas City twice in its inaugural season with an aggregate score of 4-1.
