Kealia Watt, who was signed by the Red Stars before the start of the 2021 season, has made a large impact in her first full regular season with Chicago. Watt is currently tied with Mal Pugh, another marquee newcomer for the Red Stars, with the most goals on the team with four apiece, as well as the team lead in assists with four as well.
Chicago is coming off a 2-1 victory over Kansas City before the international break. The Red Stars profited off an own goal from Kristen Edmonds to open the scoring, but moments later her teammate Hailie Mace was able to level the score 1-1 before halftime. Makenzy Doniak scored the eventual game-winner for the Red Stars, securing the 2-1 victory at home.
Pugh and Watt currently lead Chicago with four goals each on the season and also both lead the Red Stars with four assists. Makenzy Doniak and former Pride player Rachel Hill have both contributed three goals on the season to follow.
The Pride and Red Stars have met twice this season, with each team securing a shutout victory over the other. Orlando traveled to SeatGeek Stadium in August, where the Pride won 2-0. Both Jodie Taylor and Sydney Leroux scored for the Pride and Ashlyn Harris held Chicago scoreless on the night, making three saves.

Friday’s match will feature a number of special guests with the Pet Alliance of Greater Orlando set to come out to the contest. The organization will have a display set up pregame in the concourse with a number of dogs on site that are available for adoption. The Pet Alliance of Greater Orlando recently suffered a devastating fire to its Orlando-based shelter.
