Josema Bazan joined the Lions ahead of the 2020 season following six years on Oscar Pareja’s staff, beginning in 2014 where he joined FC Dallas in the same capacity. 

A USSF “A” licensed coach, Bazan joined the FC Dallas organization in 2011 as an academy coach for its U-16 and U-18 sides, where he first worked with Pareja. In 2014, he was promoted to an assistant coaching position and has occupied the same role under Pareja ever since. He has also served as an assistant for the U-17, U-20 and senior Venezuelan National Teams. 

As a player, Josema played on the international stage for his native country of Argentina at the 1991 U-20 World Cup. Throughout his professional career, he spent time in Argentina, Bolivia, Chile and Brazil from 1986 to 1996, before finishing his playing career in Dallas as a member of the DFW Tornadoes of the former United Soccer Leagues’ D3 Pro League.
