ORLANDO, Fla. (Oct. 31, 2025) – Orlando City SC announced today that goalkeeper Pedro Gallese will depart the Club following the conclusion of his current contract. Gallese leaves the City Beautiful after six memorable seasons as a Lion.

“Pedro has been an incredible ambassador for our Club both on and off the field. His professionalism, leadership and unwavering commitment helped shape the culture that we have today,” said Orlando City SC General Manager & Sporting Director Ricardo Moreira. “As a player, he delivered countless unforgettable moments, setting Club records for appearances, minutes played, saves, wins and clean sheets. He played a vital role in our first MLS-era trophy win, six straight playoff appearances and historic runs in international competition. Pedro leaves a legacy that will be felt for years to come, and we thank him for everything he’s given to Orlando City.”

The 35-year-old Peruvian international appeared in 40 matches, all starts, for Orlando City in 2025 across all competitions, totaling 3,600 minutes played, 124 saves, and 15 wins. He played a pivotal role in the Lions’ Leagues Cup 2025 Quarterfinal victory over Liga MX’s reigning Campeón de Campeones, Deportivo Toluca—making two crucial saves in the sixth and seventh rounds of the penalty shootout and scoring the game-winning penalty himself.

Over his six seasons in Orlando, the Lima native made 201 appearances, all starts, becoming the most capped goalkeeper in Club history. He set Club records in minutes played (18,188), saves (568), wins (89) and clean sheets (57), surpassing previous record-holder Joe Bendik by significant margins in each category.

Gallese was honored with the 2022 MLS Save of the Year presented by Allstate for his diving stop on former Lion Dom Dwyer in the 89th minute of a 1-1 draw at Atlanta United FC on July 17, 2022. In 2021, Gallese was one of two Lions to represent Orlando in Los Angeles at the 2021 MLS All-Star Game, joining former captain Nani.

Throughout his tenure, Gallese was instrumental in Orlando City’s rise, helping the Club secure its first trophy of the MLS era, the 2022 Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup, along with six consecutive appearances in the Audi MLS Cup Playoffs, including a run to the Eastern Conference Final in 2024. He also helped lead the Lions to the MLS is Back Tournament Final and the Club’s first two appearances in the Concacaf Champions Cup.
