Ghanaian Schools Receive OCSC Supplies

Ghana Donation

Orlando City supporter Alton Jones recently visited two schools in Ghana, West Africa. His mission was to deliver supplies including indestructible soccer balls, jerseys, and scarves. The first school visited was a combined school that serviced two villages, Tokpo and Tsumkpo. The second school visited was the larger school Manya-Battor. Both communities had special ties to Alton, as his daughter and son-in-law had previously worked with the Peace Corps in the surrounding area.
At each school the students regaled them with singing, ceremonial drumming and cultural dancing. Alton was taken aback at his first-hand view into how excited the children were to even see the purple and shiny equipment. "We brought school supplies that the administration appreciated, but when we announced we had soccer uniforms and balls the kids roared with delight.”
The students posed with Alton and his Orlando City scarf, and will continue to enjoy the indestructible soccer balls for years to come.
