Eric Allsopp Continues Gameday Poster Artist Series in July

Allsopp Poster

As the Gameday Poster artists series heads into its fifth month, the Orlando City Foundation turned to a designer who has been working inside the team for the last three years. Eric Allsopp, Graphic Designer for Orlando City SC, will create both posters for the month of July, starting with July 8th matchup against Houston.

Allsopp’s first poster, “Man The Wall”, features goalkeeper Joe Bendik. “He is one of the most consistent players on our team and has developed into a fan favorite,” explained Allsopp. “Time and time again he has just shown the ability to put this team on his back, so I wanted to highlight him.”

“One of the most symbolic things about our club is the color purple and the shield, so I wanted to bring that into my design,” said Allsopp as he described his creative process in the poster’s design. “The general feel of our Lions Never Hunt Alone campaign has largely had that grunge feel with dynamic angular lines. It also mirrors Major League Soccer’s current campaign so I thought it married everything together perfectly.”

The poster took Allsopp nearly eight hours to complete from start to finish. It will be available on July 8th at the Houston Dynamo match and is also available online here. All proceeds benefit the Orlando City Foundation.

Allsopp’s next poster will debut at the end of the month when Orlando City takes on New England. Luckily, he gave us a sneak peek.

“It will be very similar in the design,” Allsopp explained. “However it will feature multiple players and be a representation of both teams.”
