ORLANDO, Fla. -- In celebration of Earth Day, Orlando City joined all teams across MLS on Saturday in wearing special kits made of recycled materials for its match against D.C. United.

Dubbed the One Planet Kit from adidas, the Lions traded in their traditional purple and gold home uniforms for a unique shade of aqua and black, featuring a hand-drawn design with a message to "End Plastic Waste."

To create the kits, adidas intercepts plastics on remote islands, beaches and coastal communities before they have the chance to reach high-risk ocean environments. Once collected, those plastics are shredded, melted and mixed with a threaded material, ultimately completing the transformation from problem to performance.

You can score your own One Planet Kit at The Den Team Store inside Exploria Stadium, at OCMobileShop.com for local pick-up or online at MLSStore.com.
