DraftKings Players to Watch: Carlos Rivas on the Upswing

Rivas DraftKings

This Sunday, Orlando City takes on the Philadelphia Union after a resounding 4-1 victory against the Portland Timbers. Here is a list of potential impact players to consider for your DraftKings roster.

Haven’t tried DraftKings? It’s easy. Each player is given a salary cap of $50,000 to draft their eleven player lineup. Players’ salaries are determined by their on-field performance, FPPG, or Fantasy Points Per Game.

Orlando City Players to Look Our For:

Carlos Rivas: 9.0 FPPG $4,100 - Carlos Rivas’ goal at the death of last week’s match against New England was his first as a Lion. With that pressure now gone, look for Rivas to consistently show up on the score sheet. The question is, will he start? It may be tough to break into the lineup with both Adrian Winter and Kevin Molino playing well, but even as a substitute he has tremendous scoring potential. He has a history of good performances against the Red Bulls, so put your chips down on the speedy midfielder this Friday night.

Kevin Molino: 11.7 FPPG $4,700 - In his last six matches, Kevin Molino has turned in five double-digital fantasy performances. With Molino leaving last week’s match with a calf injury, his status for this weekend is questionable, but head coach Adrian Heath has expressed that the injury is “Nothing too bad”. If he’s healthy, he’s a must include in your lineup in his recent form.

Brek Shea: 7.9 FPPG $4,700 - Something tells me Brek Shea is due for another breakout game. With what some would say is a Copa America snub this week, he might just have that extra bit of motivation. Despite not finding the score sheet since the Portland match, he is still a consistent fantasy performer due to his defensive contributions.

Around The League

Fanendo Adi: 11 FPPG $6,900 - This reigning MLS Player of the Month has been on an tear. In his last three matches, the forward has notched two goals and an assist. His ability to consistently put shots on target does wonders for his fantasy value, and his combination of size, speed, and finishing ability makes him a tough matchup for any defense.

Chris Wondolowski: 12.1 FPPG $7,000 - Chris Wondolowski has been one of the most consistent goal-scores in MLS this season. He has scored in all but two of his nine appearances. That consistency is a dream for a fantasy player, so if you’ve got the cash, Wondolowski is the guy for you.
