Diego Torres joined the Orlando City staff prior to the 2020 Major League Soccer season after over a decade spent at Club Tijuana in various roles, where he worked with Oscar Pareja in 2019.

While at Tijuana, Torres spent time as an assistant coach and as the club’s Technical Director for its academy. In 2017, he was named interim manager, returning to his role as an assistant upon conclusion of the year. Beginning in 2012, he also served as an assistant for Ascenso MX side Dorados de Sinaloa, with stints in 2012, 2014 and 2018.

On the field, Torres enjoyed a 10-year career as a professional throughout Mexico. He made his professional debut in 1998 for Tecos F.C. and would go on to total over 200 professional appearances across several Mexican clubs in over a decade of play, scoring 42 goals.
