Cyle Larin Returns From Gold Cup: “I’m Back Home”

Cyle Larin Returns Gold Cup

After a short stint at the CONCACAF Gold Cup with Team Canada, Cyle Larin is back in Orlando and ready to pick up where he left off.

“It was a good experience,” he said to reporters after training on Thursday. “It feels good to be back and train with the guys again. It just feels like I’m back home and a lot more comfortable and [ready to] just go back to training and start working again.”

Pedro Ribeiro and Carlos Rivas shouldered the load up top while Larin was away. They did well in his absence, but having Larin back will give Adrian Heath more to work with as he assembles his squad for Saturday. Heath didn’t say whether Larin would start, but he will be available for selection come Saturday.

Another Gold Cup participant will be rejoining Orlando City when Darwin Cerén gets back on Friday after representing El Salvador.

“I think there is a good chance Darwin will play,” said Heath after Wednesday night’s 3-1 friendly win over West Brom. “As much as I’m disappointed for El Salvador, I’m delighted [that] Darwin Cerén’s coming back to play for us at the weekend.”

Kickoff against the Red Bulls is set for 7:30 pm and will be televised on MY65, Sun Sports and on the FOX Sports GO App.
