By The Numbers | On The Road Again

Artboard 1

27 - El Maestro on Top

Mauricio Pereyra made Orlando City history on Saturday night, picking up his 27th career assist across on the Lions’ second goal in their 2-1 win over Charlotte FC. That helper puts Pereyra in sole possession of the all-time club record for assists in all competitions, with the Uruguayan No. 10 passing Nani for the mark in 16 fewer appearances.

1.32 - The Road Warriors

Typically, you want to average about a point per game or slightly better on the road in a given season to make the Audi MLS Cup Playoffs. Oscar Pareja’s Orlando City teams have vastly exceeded that, putting together 1.32 PPG (10-10-11) across parts of three seasons away from home. The Lions are 2-0-2 on the road this year, one of only two undefeated away teams in the league along with the New York Red Bulls. Orlando starts a three-game road trip in MLS play this weekend.

4 - Homes Away From Home

Orlando City has enjoyed traveling to face CF Montréal in places that aren’t Exploria Stadium over the past few years. Going back to June 2019, the Lions have won four straight against Montréal in non-Exploria venues. This includes two wins at the Stade Saputo (including last year’s dramatic Decision Day playoff clincher), one at Red Bull Arena during the pandemic-impacted 2020 regular season, and one at the Walt Disney World Resort during the MLS is Back Tournament. Orlando did not concede a single goal in any of those four matches.

14 - Beaucoup de Buts

CF Montréal was eliminated from the 2022 CONCACAF Champions League on March 16, falling 2-1 on aggregate to Mexican powerhouse Cruz Azul. At that time, they were 0-3-0 in MLS play with just two goals scored. Since turning their full attention to the league, though, the Canadian side has been rampant, scoring 14 times in six matches, the second-most goals in the league in that span behind NYCFC. Montréal is 4-0-2 in those six matches.
