By The Numbers: In The Hunt

1019btn2021

3 - Big moment Bear

Júnior Urso’s 13th-minute goal that took down FC Cincinnati this weekend was not only his fourth tally of the season, but also his third game-winner, following go-ahead goals against Toronto FC on June 19 and the Columbus Crew on September 4. Urso is now tied with Nani for the team lead in game winners.

163 - Jansson’s time

Robin Jansson has been a staple in the Orlando City backline since arriving at the club in March 2019, so it tracks that he’s played a lot of minutes. But the Swede could make some real club history this week–at 7,530 minutes played in all competitions, he’s currently 163 minutes away from passing Cristian Higuita for the most minutes played by an outfield player in Orlando City history. Goalkeeper Joe Bendik has the all-time mark at 8,248 minutes.

14 - Djordje of the Djungle

CF Montréal’s marquee offseason addition was attacking midfielder Djordje Mihailovic, acquired for $800,000 in General Allocation Money. The gamble has paid off handsomely for Club de Foot. Mihailovic currently ranks second in MLS with 14 assists, within striking distance of league leader and Landon Donovan MLS MVP frontrunner Carles Gil.

7 - Rolling Revs

Orlando City welcomes in the New England Revolution on Sunday amidst a historic 2021 campaign for the Bostonians. The Revs are, as of this writing, seven points away from setting a new MLS single-season points record, currently held by 2019 Los Angeles FC with 72. A draw against Chicago last weekend somewhat dented its hopes, but New England is still on track for 75 points, enough to set the record.
