Orlando City Foundation Donates $10,000 to Parramore Kid Zone
For the second consecutive year, the Orlando City Foundation has donated $10,000 to benefit 10 local college-bound students. Each student will receive $1,000 to help fund tuition and other related expenses. The students’ achievements were celebrated during halftime of last Sunday’s match against D.C. United.

Lions To Host Columbus Crew in U.S. Open Cup Round of 16
After their thrilling 4-4 (8-7) penalty kick shootout victory over the Charleston Battery, Orlando City will face the Columbus Crew in the Round of 16 of the U.S. Open Cup. The two teams have already faced each other twice this season, with Crew SC winning the first game, 3-0, and Orlando City coming back to tie the second game, 2-2. The game will be played on June 30. Tickets go on sale at 10:00am on June 19 and will be available on Ticketmaster.

Pedro Ribeiro’s Stellar Play Earning Him Unexpected Minutes 
When Pedro Ribeiro arrived in Orlando following his selection in the MLS Expansion Draft, he didn’t think he would get much playing time. “I came in to be pretty much a substitute who could fill in in various spots. That was the reality,” he said. Ribeiro has scored several timely goals that proved critical in securing points as Orlando City continues its run up the standings, and his play is earning him big time minutes.

Orlando Serving as Model for Other Prospective MLS Cities
Throughout the South, cities hoping to get MLS franchises are looking to Orlando for guidance. Just four years after it’s conception, Orlando City has made one of the most successful leaps to MLS in league history. The team consistently draws crowds of over 30,000 for home games and ranks second in MLS in attendance. A team in Atlanta is set to begin play in 2017, and other southern cities are hoping to become the next MLS expansion city.

Orlando City Falls to Montreal Impact, 2-0
The Lions’ unbeaten streak ended at five games after their 2-0 loss to the Montreal Impact on Saturday night. Orlando City put the pressure on early when Cyle Larin directed several crosses towards the goal frame, but the Lions couldn’t break through. Donny Toia’s header past Tally Hall in the 36th minute proved to be the winner as Orlando City fell to 5-6-5 for 20 points. They return to action against the Colorado Rapids on Wednesday at the Citrus Bowl.
