Here are five storylines to watch on Saturday as Orlando City looks to get a result against the LA Galaxy at Exploria Stadium.

The Club-Leader

Over the weekend, defender Robin Jansson made Club history, becoming the Club’s all-time appearance leader in all competitions, donning the crest for the 127th time since joining the Lions in 2019.

Jansson passed former teammate Chris Mueller, who held the mark at 126. The Swedish center back also owns the Club-record for starts at 122 and minutes played by a Lion at 11,222.

El Pulpo’s Posts

With the start on Saturday, Pedro Gallese will break the Club-record for appearances by an Orlando City goalkeeper.

Gallese matched former Lions netminder Joe Bendik’s mark of 92 over the weekend, with the Peruvian international already holding the Club-record for starts at 92, clean sheets (24) and goalkeeper wins (40) in all competitions.

Last Go Against the Galaxy

The Lions last faced the Galaxy just over a year ago, with the side traveling to Dignity Health Sports Park on March 19, taking a 1-0 shutout victory over the side behind a ninth-minute game-winner from Facundo Torres in what served as his first goal in purple.

That match also saw Orlando City goalkeeper Pedro Gallese set the Club-record for clean sheets, tallying his 14th at the time in all competitions with three saves on the afternoon.

McGuire Magic

Saturday night saw 2023 MLS SuperDraft selection Duncan McGuire find the back of the net yet again, tallying his third goal of the season. McGuire’s three goals lead City on the year, two of which have come in the Club’s last two contests.

With four total goal contributions on the year, McGuire is tied with teammate MartĂn Ojeda for the team lead.

Contributing on All Fronts

In what served as his first start at Exploria Stadium in the calendar year, defender Antonio Carlos contributed on both sides of the ball, earning the secondary assist on McGuire’s first-half finish for his first helper of the year.

The Brazilian center back has tallied a trio of finishes with just as many assists in his Club tenure since arriving prior to the 2020 campaign.
