The opponents have been chosen. The match times have been set. The 2017 MLS schedule has been released. But maybe you’re feeling a bit overwhelmed with all of this new information-- which matches should you make room in your schedule for? We’ve got a few recommendations.

Orlando City vs. New York City FC - Sunday, March 5th

On March 5th, Orlando City christen their new stadium as they take the pitch against their rivals, New York City FC. Orlando City opened their inaugural season against NYCFC, who joined the league in the same year. Last season, Orlando City had a stunning 2-1 victory when they hosted NYCFC. The match marked the first time Head Coach Jason Kreis had faced his former team. The Lions are sure to show that same passion on opening day-- they’ll do anything to defend their new home.

Orlando City vs. Montreal Impact - Saturday, June 17th

Last season, Orlando City beat Montreal in two out of their three meetings. But Montreal made the last one count, knocking Orlando City out of playoff contention with a 1-0 victory at Camping World Stadium. Players and fans alike will be looking for redemption when they take the pitch against Montreal for the first time in 2017.

Orlando City vs. Toronto FC - Wednesday, July 5th

There are many things that make this midseason matchup against Toronto FC special. Orlando City will be hosting the Eastern Conference Champions. Will Johnson will be facing his former team. And matches against Toronto FC are never dull. Look for Orlando City to put a little extra passion into getting three points here.

Atlanta United vs. Orlando City - Sunday, July 30th

This isn’t a home match-- but it’s a short travel time for the first game in Atlanta United’s new stadium. Orlando City faces Atlanta in back-to-back weeks, hosting them on Friday, July 21st before travelling to Atlanta to face them on July 30th. These matches will be a great way to get a look at the new kids on the block, and prove that Orlando City is still the Soccer Capital of the South.

Orlando City vs. FC Dallas - Saturday, September 30th

While FC Dallas suffered from a disappointingly short post-season, they did win the Supporters’ Shield last year, topping the Western Conference with 60 points in 34 games. Orlando City hosts FC Dallas for just the second time, and will be looking for their first victory against the defending Shield winners.
