Abdellaoui on the Board
Defender Noham Abdellaoui scored his first career goal in Orlando City B’s recent match against Toronto FC II last Wednesday. The milestone came just five minutes before halftime, following a well-placed free kick from midfielder Jhon Solís. Solís curled the ball into the box, where Abdellaoui slipped behind the Toronto defense and volleyed home a right-footed finish. Since joining Orlando City B in March, the Algerian international has made six appearances in the 2025 season, with Wednesday’s match marking his third start.
A Steady Helper
Midfielder Jhon Solís recorded his second assist of the season with a pinpoint free kick that set up Noham Abdellaoui’s first-half goal against Toronto FC II. The assist marked Solís’ 12th in his Orlando City B career, placing him second on the team in assists this season and second all-time for OCB since 2023 – trailing only current Orlando City defender Alex Freeman. Since joining the club in 2023, the Colombian international has been a consistent presence in the lineup, starting 69 of his 70 appearances and contributing eight goals along the way.
Road Warriors
For the third time this season, Orlando City B is hitting the road for a two-game trip away from Osceola County Stadium. In their previous two back-to-back road swings, the Lions have won the first match and fell short in the second. The first stop on this trip will be a visit to Philadelphia Union II, a side OCB hasn’t faced since April 2024. The second leg brings a more familiar opponent, as the Lions head to Matthews, North Carolina, for their second matchup of the season against Crown Legacy FC. This time, the young Lions will aim to break the pattern and return to Kissimmee with a perfect sweep and two more wins under their belt.
No “Brotherly” Love Lost
Orlando City B and Philadelphia Union II have met six times since the launch of MLS NEXT Pro in 2022. Four of those encounters have taken place on the road for the Lions, who hold a 1-2-1 record as the visiting side. Monday afternoon’s Eastern Conference clash presents an opportunity for OCB to secure a second road win against Union II and level the all-time away record. A victory would also bring the young Lions within three points of their rivals from the City of Brotherly Love as they head into the second leg of their two-game road trip.
