Hey Now, You’re an All-Star

On Wednesday, Orlando City midfielder Gustavo Caraballo and Academy midfielder Dylan Judelson were selected for the 2025 MLS NEXT All-Star Game. The pair will travel to Austin, Texas, to compete in the East vs. West showcase on Monday, July 21, featuring top young talent from across North America. Caraballo and Judelson will join goalkeeper Carlos Mercado and defender Alex Freeman in representing the Lions during All-Star festivities. Freeman has been named to the 2025 MLS All-Star roster, while Mercado will participate in MLS NEXT Pro’s Goalie Wars competition. With representatives at every level – from the senior team to MLS NEXT Pro and the Academy – Orlando City will be fully represented in Austin, highlighting the strength of the club’s development pathway.

Ready for Round Two

Orlando City B will make its second trip of the season to Mecklenburg County Sportsplex at Matthews on Sunday evening to face Crown Legacy FC. The two sides last met in March, when the young Lions secured a 1-0 victory thanks to a 30th-minute goal from First Team midfielder Shak Mohammed. A win in Matthews this weekend would give Orlando City B the season series, with the third and final matchup between the clubs scheduled for August 31.

On a Platter for Platts

Defender Jackson Platts opened his 2025 scoring account on Monday, netting the lone goal for Orlando City B in a draw against Philadelphia Union II. The breakthrough came in the 12th minute, when midfielder Gustavo Caraballo delivered a pinpoint corner into the box. Platts rose above his marker and looped a header over the goalkeeper to give the Lions an early lead. The goal was Platts’ first since August 2024. Since joining Orlando City B, the Academy product and Generation adidas Cup U-18 champion has tallied two goals and one assist across 21 appearances.

Caraballo with the Cross

Midfielder Gustavo Caraballo recorded his first career assist for Orlando City B on Monday, setting up Jackson Platts’ 12th-minute goal against Philadelphia Union II. From the corner flag, Caraballo delivered a perfectly placed ball into the box, where Platts rose to head it home for the opening goal. The assist adds to Caraballo’s growing impact with the team. In nine career appearances for OCB, the Venezuela international has now tallied one goal and one assist.
