Match report: Moises Tablante scores as Orlando City B drops 2-1 decision to New York Red Bulls II

MONTCLAIR, N.J. (July 31, 2023) – Orlando City B (10-8-2, 33 points) was defeated by New York Red Bulls II (10-6-4, 36 points) by a 2-1 scoreline on Monday night. The Lions will face a quick turnaround as they travel South to take on intrastate rivals Inter Miami CF II on Saturday, August 5 at DRV PNK Stadium. 

Moises Tablante was able to find the back of the net for the lone Lions' goal on the night. The finish served as his third goal of the 2023 campaign, and his first since May 5. Jhon Solís recorded the assist on the goal with a nice pass behind the backline of the Red Bulls defense using the outside of his boot. The helper is the fifth of the year for Solís, which now leads the entire Club.

33’ Wikelman Carmon (O’Vonte Mullings) - RBNY 1, ORL 0  
The home side struck first with Wikelman Carmona receiving the ball from O’Vonte Mullings and ripping a shot from outside of the box, finding the bottom right corner of the net.  

47’ Moises Tablante (Jhon Solís) - ORL 1, RBNY 1 
The Lions leveled the match shortly after the halftime break with Jhon Solís receiving the ball and sending a ball behind the backline of the Red Bulls using the outside of his foot. The Red Bulls goalkeeper came out, but Tablante beat him to the ball, dribbled around the keeper and calmly put the ball into the empty net.  

77’ Ibrahim Kasule (Penalty Kick) - RBNY 2, ORL 1 
The Red Bulls took back the lead after Omar Valencia was taken down in the box, earning a penalty kick. Ibrahim Kasule then stepped up to the spot and sent the ball right down the middle to convert the penalty.
