Match Report: 10-man Orlando City B battles to 2-2 draw with Chattanooga FC

KISSIMMEE, Fla. (Aug. 9, 2025) – Orlando City B (7-10-4, 27 points) played to a dramatic 2-2 draw against Chattanooga FC (8-6-7, 35 points) on Saturday evening at Osceola County Stadium, despite being down a man for the final 30 minutes. The Lions ultimately fell 4-2 in the end-of-regulation shootout.

Chattanooga struck early in the second half, with Nathan Koehler finding the back of the net in the 46th minute. Just minutes later, OCB’s Bernardo Rhein received two yellow cards in quick succession in the 58th and 60th minutes, leaving the Lions with 10 men for the remainder of the match.

Despite the disadvantage, Orlando City B responded with resilience. Brazilian forward Thalles equalized in the 77th minute, capitalizing on a chaotic scramble in front of the Chattanooga goal. The Lions’ defense held firm, including a crucial goal-line clearance in the 86th minute after a dangerous ball slipped past goalkeeper Carlos Mercado.

In stoppage time, First Team midfielders Shak Mohammed and Gustavo Caraballo combined for a brilliant attacking move. Mohammed played the ball wide to Caraballo, who returned it with a pinpoint cross for Mohammed to volley home and give OCB a late lead. However, Chattanooga’s Koehler struck again in the dying moments, leveling the match and sending it to an end-of-regulation shootout, where the visitors prevailed 4-2.

Orlando City B is set to hit the road for its next match, traveling to Historic Crew Stadium to face Columbus Crew 2 on Sunday, August 17. Kickoff is scheduled for 3 p.m. ET, with live coverage available on MLSNEXTPro.com.
