Molino, Garcia Bring ‘More Quality’ To Orlando City Offense

Offensive Quality

With the addition of Matías Pérez García to the Orlando City lineup, last week Head Coach Jason Kreis said that Orlando City could have one of the best offenses in MLS. As Kevin Molino works his way back to full health and García gets more adjusted to life in Orlando, the Orlando City offense has the opportunity to connect and increase the skill in their attacking game as they look to make it to the playoffs

Team Captain Kaká had good things to say about his teammates after training on Thursday. As they prepare to travel to Chicago this weekend, Kaká said that the team is still working on understanding Kreis’ philosophy and implementing it on the pitch. Their training sessions have been long, but Kaká says that kind of training is necessary so their tactics become engrained in the way they play.

To achieve offensive success, the team needs all of the best players at its disposal. After missing Sunday’s match due to a minor hamstring injury, the team is eager to have Kevin Molino back in the lineup. “Kevin is important for us,” Kaká said. “Kevin is a player that can help us a lot. He’s the type of player who can decide the game.”

Kaká says the best thing that Molino brings to the game is his creativity. “He can create the situations to score,” Kaká said. “His creativity is good for the team.”

As for Orlando City’s newest signee, Kaká says that fans will probably see much more of Garcia in upcoming matches. “Good player, good touch,” Kaká said. “It will be fun to play with him.”

Orlando City is currently ranked 7th in the league in goals scored, having scored 36 goals over 22 games. Cyle Larin is ranked 5th in the race for the Golden Boot with 11 goals this season. Kaká and Kevin Molino come in at 9th and 10th place respectively in assists, with seven apiece this season. If Kreis can get the offense fired up, the team could be unstoppable.

“The coach makes the decision of who is gonna play or not,” Kaká said. “But… everybody who plays midfield or forward, we can have more quality.”
