Orlando City Development Academy Teams and Players Recognized by U.S. Soccer

ORLANDO (August 5, 2015) – The Orlando City SC U.S. Soccer Development Academy program was recognized by U.S. Soccer during its end of the year awards, as the Lions were named Most Improved Club – capping off a successful campaign in the highest level of play for boys in the nation.


In addition, defender Jonathan Rosales and midfielder Raul Aguilera were named to the U15/16 Best XI team, along with goalkeeper Mason Stadjuhar who earned Best XI honors for the U-18 side.


Lastly, the U15/16 took home the Style of Play award in the East, showcasing the Lions’ prominent possession-oriented style of play.


"Congratulations to our club and players. The recognition from U.S. Soccer is a direct reflection on the club’s commitment to player development," said USSDA head coach Jeff Negalha. "It also speaks volumes of the players and their dedication to the process. We clearly must remain focused and continue to improve our training and playing standards."


The USSDA program is the pinnacle of the Orlando City youth pyramid, providing the highest level of competition available for the brightest young talent in Central Florida.


As part of Orlando City's commitment to developing young talent, all Orlando City USSDA players are fully funded, including registration, travel and uniform costs.
