ORLANDO – September 22, 2015 – Orlando City SC striker Cyle Larin has been named to Major League Soccer’s (MLS) annual “24 Under 24” list, ranking 10th among the league’s brightest prospects under 24 years of age.

The rankings were decided by a panel of soccer media members who cover MLS regularly from across the United States and Canada, including journalists from ESPN, FOX Sports, SI.com and many others, basing their selections off technical ability, soccer IQ, physical attributes, personality and potential.

“Thanks to everyone who voted for me. It’s an honor to be selected to the ‘24Under24’ list in my rookie season,” said Larin. “I’d also like to thank my teammates as this recognition wouldn’t have been possible without them.”

After being drafted by City as the first overall selection in the 2015 MLS SuperDraft, Larin has become a goal-scoring sensation for the Lions in his rookie campaign.
Since finishing his first professional goal in Orlando’s 2-0 victory over the Portland Timbers on April 12, the Canadian forward has become the squad’s number one goal-scorer, recording a team-high 11 goals in 23 games played.

In addition, Larin ranks eighth in the league for goals scored – the youngest player in the top 10 – and is also 12th for goals per 90 minutes (0.63). Lastly, Larin is fourth in MLS for goals on the road, with more than half of his finishes occurring away from home (6), sitting behind veteran goal-scorers Chris Wondolowski, Sebastian Giovinco and Kei Kamara.
