As the Pride play their third straight road match, here are five things to watch for
Road Warriors
The match against the Dash will serve as the third and final road match for the Pride of a 10-day road stand. The 10 days away from home is the longest road trip in the Pride’s history. Orlando kicked off the trip with a 2-1 win over the San Diego Wave back on Sept. 26, before most recently playing Club América Femenil as part of the Concacaf W Champions Cup on Tuesday, Sept. 30.
H-Town
Orlando has won four straight meetings against Houston, including a 1-0 home win on June 7 this season in which they were backed by a stoppage time game-winning goal from Cori Dyke. Houston is just one of two opponents that the Pride have won four straight regular season matches against, an accomplishment they achieved against Washington across the 2023 and 2024 seasons. The Pride are looking to win five straight regular season games against a single opponent for the first time in Club history.
Don’t Let Them Get Hot
The Pride snapped its nine-match regular-season winless run with a 2-1 victory at San Diego Wave. The Pride have scored multiple goals in each of their last two NWSL regular season away matches, something they haven’t done in three straight away league games since a four-match run in 2019.
Immediate Impact
Jacqueline Ovalle netted her first career goal in her third NWSL start for Orlando against the Wave after providing an assist in her first career start. Ovalle is just the fourth Pride player to record at least one goal and one assist within their first three regular season starts for the Club, joining Steph Catley, Marta and Barbra Banda.
Pickett Out Of The Net
Pride defender Carson Pickett scored the game-winning goal in the Pride’s most recent 2-1 win in San Diego. The goal counted as her second of the NWSL regular season and her third across all competitions this year. It is the first time in Pickett’s career that she has scored multiple goals for one team in one season.
