Improving Through the Years
The Orlando Pride and Portland Thorns split their 2025 regular season series, with the home side claiming a 1-0 victory in each meeting. When the Pride traveled to Providence Park earlier this year, Portland’s lone goal matched the fewest goals Orlando has ever allowed the Thorns in an away match.
Road Tested
The Pride enter the match looking to secure their first road victory since returning from the June international break. Before the pause in the schedule, Orlando collected points in three of its six away matches, posting two wins and one draw. With a strong opportunity against a familiar opponent, the Pride will aim to recapture that early-season road form.
Long-Distance Delivery
Kerry Abello enters the match on the heels of an incredible strike against Racing Louisville FC. Her 33.5-yard goal was the longest scored in the NWSL this season and marked her first goal of 2025. The score was also the fourth of her professional career since being selected by Orlando in the 2021 NWSL Draft, showcasing the defender’s ability to make an impact from anywhere on the field.
Contributions From Across the Pitch
Orlando’s attack has been fueled by production from throughout the roster. With Abello finding the back of the net against Louisville, she became the sixth different player to score one of the Pride’s last six regular-season goals dating back to May. Cori Dyke, Marta, Hannah Anderson, Barbra Banda, Julie Doyle and Abello have all contributed during that stretch, underscoring the club’s balanced offensive approach.
Finishing Strong
The Pride have made a habit of delivering late in matches this season. Orlando has scored eight goals in the final 15 minutes of the second half, tied for the most in the NWSL. Those eight late goals already rank as the third-highest total in club history for that stage of a match.
