The Story:
- The Pride enter Friday's match unbeaten in their last five NWSL meetings with the Wave, outscoring San Diego 7-3 during that stretch. That run includes a 1-0 road win earlier this season on May 24, when Nicole Payne scored the first professional goal of her career..
- Haley McCutcheon recorded the second brace of her career in Sunday's win over Bay FC, becoming the first player in NWSL history to score within the opening two minutes of both halves of a regular-season match. The two-goal performance pushed her season total to six, extending her career-high mark for goals in a single campaign.
- Kerry Abello became just the third player in club history to make 100 regular-season appearances for the Pride when she entered Sunday's match against Bay FC, joining Marta and Haley McCutcheon as the only players to reach the milestone.
Quote of the Week:
“It's a tall task for us, they are a really good team and they are in form. They are on a hunt for the shield and we are on a hunt to shut down their shield hunt. So, we are looking forward to a good game and I expect it to be a difficult match. But, we are excited for the challenge.”
- Interim head coach Yolanda Thomas
