The Story:
- The Pride are currently riding a 10-match league scoring streak, finding the back of the net in every match from Aug. 7 through Oct. 18. The current run continued with Orlando’s 2-1 road victory over the Houston Dash and stands as the Club’s longest scoring streak since finding the back of the net in 16 consecutive matches from September 2023 to June 2024.
- Solai Washington has scored twice in October, netting her first international goal for Jamaica against Mexico on Oct. 9 before scoring her first NWSL goal in the Pride’s 2-1 win over the Houston Dash on Oct. 18. The professional tally came off an assist from Marta and ultimately stood as the game-winner.
- With her assist on Solai Washington’s goal against Houston, Marta became the 10th player in NWSL history to record 40 goals and 20 assists. The Pride captain is just the fourth player in league history to reach both marks with a single club, adding another league milestone to her Orlando career. At 40 years old, Marta also stands as the oldest player in NWSL history to reach the 40-goal, 20-assist mark.
Quote of the Week:
“We haven't changed much because we set our focus beyond just qualifying. It was about how we show up, so we haven't changed much in our approach. We placed a big emphasis on enjoying the time we have together, so everything we've done, we've done with the mindset that we're not just going to complete the task, but we're going to have fun while doing it. It's been a really fun time of just enjoying competing and preparing together. At the end of the day, we're professionals. We want to win games, and we want to test ourselves against the best, and we have an opportunity ahead to do that. We're looking forward to testing what we've been working on and building toward against a really good team.” - Interim head coach Yolanda Thomas
