1. A huge win on the road! The Orlando Pride keep their playoff hopes alive with a 2-1 win on the road, taking down the Houston Dash for the second time this season!
2. The win marks the 12th win over the Dash in the Pride's history, the most wins against one team.
3. As the game started, the message from the coaching staff was to start on the front foot. Interim Head Coach Yolanda Thomas told the team in the locker room that they would score within the first 15 minutes of the game, which they ended up doing just after.
4. Solai Washington, fresh off scoring a goal for Jamaica, drove into the box in the 11th minute and was taken down by Miljana Ivanovic, earning a penalty for the Pride. After a four-minute video review, the goal was eventually given to Orlando.
5. It originally looked like Marta would be the one to take the penalty, but at the last moment, she handed the ball off to her Brazilian teammate, Luana, to take the shot. After a few moments, she stepped into the shot and buried it past Jane Campbell to give Orlando a 1-0 lead. It was Luana's first regular-season goal for the Pride and her second goal ever for the team.
6. Keeping with who won the penalty, Washington got one of her own just 15 minutes later. After Marta picked up the ball in the midfield, she quickly passed it into open space where Washington was running onto. After quick dribbles that got her one-on-one with Campbell, she was able to slot home her first-ever goal as a professional and double the Pride's lead.
7. The Pride were playing confidently throughout the first half, but as the second half started, they fell on the back foot in the game. Houston was able to scrap back a goal in the 55th minute, but ultimately the Pride's defense was able to shape up and finish out a much-needed result on the road.
8. Orlando's playoff hopes are still alive, however, they need some help from other teams to keep that going into next weekend. Currently, the Pride are six points behind 8th place, meaning if they get that help from other teams, they will need to win their final two matches to have a chance at a postseason berth.
9. The Pride will now return home to Inter.co Stadium next Sunday as they host Gotham FC. That game will kick off at 3:00 p.m. ET on CBS Sports Network.
