The Heineken Man of the Match Spotlight: Andres Perea

On a night where Orlando City opted to rest some key players in an away match on short rest, the Lions gave a full game’s effort before ultimately coming up short in Chicago. A big part of keeping them in the game was Andrés Perea, who was named Heineken Man of the Match after scoring his first Orlando City goal.

Making his 40th appearance for Orlando in all competitions, Perea got on the scoreboard in the 34th minute, smashing home a deflected-cross from Mikey Halliday to give the Lions the lead.

Playing in a more advanced position than usual due to Orlando City’s squad rotation, Perea chipped in two key passes along with his goal. He made 17 of his 19 total passes in the Chicago half, completing 16 of them for a 94% clip.
